I discovered the importance of a camera when returning home from serving in the US Army. Looking back at the photos and videos of my experiences in the military, I was reminded of the power that visual media can hold. I decided to transfer my passion for the camera into the commercial film world and attend the School of Motion Picture & Television at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Video production lined up with my motivation to create work that serves a lasting impact to its target audience.
Nostalgia kicked in when I realized that at a young age, I was already shooting and editing skateboard videos of my friends and I, not knowing that video production would connect with me again down the road and become my career. The film making process to me is an invisible art behind the scenes where decisions are made by the creatives true gut feelings. The final product leaves an impact on the audience which is a similar feeling I get when looking back at the moments in my life that were captured with a camera.
